Antimicrobial Protection.

Toileting, incontinence, wound care and simple everyday use make slings and belts very susceptible to microbe growth. It is also common practice for slings and belts to be used multiple times on multiple people during the day before they are washed. Medcare Slings and Belts are the first and only to be manufactured with Microban antimicrobial product protection.

Microban® antimicrobial product protection provides continuous antimicrobial cleaning that inhibits the growth of microbes such as bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration. Built into Medcare slings and belts during the manufacturing process, Microban antimicrobial protection will not wash out or wear off and provides protection for the lifetime of the sling. Microban protection keeps Medcare’s slings and belts cleaner between cleanings and test results prove its effectiveness against odor and stain causing bacteria.

These samples were tested for efficacy against bacteria using the TM 147 test method. Both samples were inoculated with bacteria and then photographed after 24 hours. The top sample was manufactured with Microban protection and the bottom sample was untreated. The sample with built-in Microban protection showed a significant inhibition zone surrounding the treated sling material. The untreated material showed no inhibition zone.
